This temple is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Kailadevi in the form of Mahayogini Mahamaya. Alongside Maa Kailadevi, the idol of Chamunda Ji, a form of Mahakali, is also worshipped here.
Although the idol of Maa Kailadevi has been worshipped at this sacred place since ancient times, the present temple was built in the 1700s by the Yaduvanshi ruler of Karauli, Yadukul Chandrabhal Maharajadhiraj Gopal Singh Ji. This magnificent temple is situated on the Trikut Mountain on the banks of the Kalisil River.
Devotees and Fairs On average, more than 50 lakh devotees visit here annually to have the darshan of Shri Kailadevi Maa. Hundreds of thousands of devotees throng the famous Kailadevi Chaitra Mela held during the "Chaitra" Navratras. Pilgrims from all over the country, especially from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, come here to seek blessings.
Temple Facilities The temple premises are exceptionally well-maintained and equipped with all necessary facilities such as darshan queues, food arrangements, prasad counters, havan sites, donation counters, etc.

Main Sanctum: To reach the main sanctum of the temple, one must pass through a hallway accessed by a series of stairs, featuring highly ornate pillars and multi-foliated arches on both sides.
Miniatures: The walls of the stairs leading to the upper floor feature exquisite 18th-century miniature paintings, which have been carefully preserved.
Main Courtyard and Yagyashala: The main courtyard has a large covered pandal that protects visitors from the weather. It is equipped with lights, fans, coolers, and other facilities. In the northeastern corner of the courtyard is a Yagyashala where devotees can perform havans.
Peepal Tree: Right next to the main entrance on the right side is a sacred Peepal tree, around which a marble platform has been built. Devotees used to light diyas at this sacred spot.
Ganesha Temple: The Ganesha temple is one of three identical temples situated in front of the main temple structure. Two of its facades have multi-foliated arched doorways, with the deity residing in the central part. The arched doorways of the other two facades feature beautiful sandstone jaalis.
Languriya Ji Temple: This temple houses the idol of Languriya Ji. It features a ribbed sandstone dome with an inverted lotus carved on it and a metal finial mounted on an octagonal base. The four corners of this base have lion statues.
